SUMS — EDITING, PUBLISHING AND RECOVERY Prepared 5 November 2026 WHAT THIS PACKAGE CONTAINS Five complete HTML pages, local photographs/video stills, seven original PDF resources, content.json (editable content), editor.html (the browser editor), and the CSS/JavaScript needed to edit, export and display the website. No University login or OpenAI service is needed to run the exported site. There are no external fonts, analytics or CMS services. The ZIP contains a working website, not just a text backup. EDIT A PAGE 1. Keep the latest exported ZIP in two places, one outside University OneDrive. 2. Extract the ZIP into a new folder. Do not edit inside a ZIP preview. 3. Open editor.html in desktop Chrome or Edge. Choose Open website folder and select the extracted folder (the folder containing content.json and index.html). Alternatively run START_EDITOR.command on a Mac with Python 3 installed. It serves this folder locally at http://localhost:8765/editor.html; close its Terminal to stop. If port 8765 is already occupied, stop that existing server or use a different port. 4. Choose a page. Edit the title, summary or text. Select text before Bold/Italic/Link. Add PDF or image appends the file to the chosen section. Describe new images. 5. Choose Export complete website ZIP. Keep this file: the editor does not save live changes, does not publish automatically, and does not keep a server-side draft. Do not close the editor until the export succeeds. 6. Extract the NEW ZIP into a new folder. Open index.html and check every changed page and attachment. If you use the launcher, start it from that new folder. 7. Upload the CONTENTS of the new folder, including assets/, to your host's static website directory, replacing the previous release. Use the host's file manager, SFTP or static-site upload. The host must serve ordinary .html, .css, .js, .json, image and PDF files. No build command or database is needed. 8. Check the live pages on a phone and desktop, downloads and videos. Record the release date and keep the previous ZIP so you can restore it if needed. Save content JSON is a supplementary text backup. It does NOT contain binary files. Import content JSON requires those files to remain in the selected website folder. Coordinate edits: one release editor at a time; there is no automatic merge or collaborative draft locking. Public visitors can use the editor to make their own copy; it contains no credentials and cannot overwrite the hosted site. Only hosting admins can publish. Keep hosting credentials separate from this package. MOVE TO ANOTHER DOMAIN OR HOST 1. Obtain an independently controlled hosting account and domain. Name at least two trusted administrators, and ensure account recovery does not depend exclusively on Plymouth email or single sign-on. Appoint a person to renew/pay for both. 2. Upload the most recent exported ZIP contents to the new host's web root. A subdirectory also works because core links/assets use relative paths. 3. Check Home, Why stand?, Getting a frame, Using a frame and The evidence. Open all seven PDFs. Start a YouTube video. Open editor.html, edit a draft and export a ZIP. 4. Connect the domain using the hosting provider's DNS instructions and enable HTTPS. 5. Update the contact email through the editor and any old contact address in the page text. Update footer attribution/branding only with the appropriate permission. 6. Where possible ask the old site owner to add redirects. Redirects from a closed Plymouth domain require Plymouth's cooperation; the new site can run without them. 7. Store a fresh export and administrator/recovery instructions outside the University. DEPENDENCIES AND PUBLIC RELEASE DECISIONS - YouTube videos remain hosted by the University/other channel owners. Links and click-to-load players are preserved; video files are not included in this package. To survive channel deletion, the team needs authorised original video masters, captions/transcripts, and a hosting account it controls. Supply these before claiming the whole resource is independent. Replace links/players when files become available. - Journal papers, the standing-frame supplier and podcast remain external links. - SUMSstudy@plymouth.ac.uk remains the source contact until the team supplies another. - Original text, PDFs and authentic images are included for private review. Ownership, reuse permission, participant consent and accessibility of legacy PDFs/videos need review by the content owners before an independent public launch. Do not assume publicly visible means openly licensed. Stock photos and University logos were omitted. - The medical wording is carried over from the original pages, not clinically updated. A named content owner should approve it and set a review schedule before launch. - Pages contain a noindex directive for this review release. Remove it in site.js and about/editor files as appropriate for the agreed public launch (keep editor noindex). - No cookies are used by the site itself. Selecting Play video connects to YouTube's privacy-enhanced player. Its policies apply once loaded. No player loads on page open. - This portable folder does not depend on the temporary ChatGPT Sites review host. RECOVERY TEST Unpack the ZIP in a fresh folder, serve it on a different local port, navigate all pages, verify each local file exists and opens, and make an edit/export in the editor. The developer verification report in the source handover records the checks completed for the initial release and any limitations. Repeat this test periodically and after changing hosting. Restore the previous release by uploading its complete folder.
